I feel like this is just funny. I was honestly inspired by an episode of Chopped, Teen Edition. Save your judgment, haters.
It's a super simple recipe but when you cook it this way, it maintains a little crunch and loads of flavor.
Also, when I went to buy Swiss Chard, the checker looked at me like I was out of my mind and said, "I don't even know what this is. What do you do with it?" Letting all of my natural awkwardness exude like a shining beacon of Napoleon Dynamite, "You cook it. And eat it." Not sassy, just awkward. Well, both. Sassily awkward. Awkwardly sassy?
Swiss Chard with Sautéed Mushrooms
1 Bundle Fresh Swiss Chard, rinsed & roughly chopped
6-8 Large Mushrooms, quartered/chopped
2 Tablesp0ons Extra-Virgin Olive Oil
Sautee the mushrooms in the olive oil until they have softened a bit. Take care to not crowd them or the ghost of Julia Child will write you a really mean letter.
Toss in your Swiss Chard and let it soak up all the delicious juice you've created. Toss it well with the mushrooms and let it cook for about 5 minutes. Don't let it over cook or it will be weird and gross. Like anything.
This makes about 4 servings and is something somewhat different but oh so tasty!
